A Prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has advanced training in the restoration of natural teeth and the replacement of missing teeth. A prosthodontist differs from a general dentist in that a prosthodontist has received 3 years of additional training after dental school in order to become an expert in advanced dental techniques. As specialists, prosthodontists are experts in dental rehabilitation and are considered masters of crowns, bridges, porcelain veneers, dentures, dental implant restorations, temporomandibular joint related problems (TMD), congenital oral defects, traumatic oral injuries, bite and occlusion problems, and full mouth restoration.
