Considering Major Dental Work? Get a Trusted Second Opinion from Our Experts
Before making an important decision about your dental health—whether it involves tooth extraction, root canals, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, or any other major treatment—it is wise to seek a second opinion.
Many patients come to us after receiving very different recommendations or feeling uncertain about the treatment they were advised to pursue. Some dental decisions are permanent. Once teeth are removed or extensive treatment begins, there may be no turning back. That is why understanding all of your options before moving forward can be one of the most important decisions you make.
Complex dental problems often deserve more than one perspective. Our multidisciplinary practice includes experienced dentists and specialists who collaborate on difficult and complex cases, giving patients the benefit of multiple expert viewpoints under one roof. Led by Dr. Albert J. Kurpis, former Columbia University faculty member, internationally recognized educator, dental implant researcher, and clinician with more than 50 years of experience, our practice was built around helping patients make informed, confident decisions regarding their dental health.
Many patients seek a second opinion after being told they need:
• Tooth extractions
• Multiple root canals
• Extensive dental implants
• Full mouth reconstruction
• Orthodontic or jaw surgery
• Complex cosmetic treatment plans
• Treatment recommendations that simply do not feel right
Our philosophy has always been simple: preserve healthy teeth whenever possible and recommend treatment only when it truly serves the patient’s long-term health, appearance, and goals. We are dedicated to exploring every reasonable option before recommending irreversible treatment.
The most important decision may not be the treatment itself. It may be who evaluates you.
Before moving forward with a permanent decision regarding your smile or health, schedule a comprehensive second opinion consultation and gain the confidence that comes from understanding all of your options.
The Kurpis Center for Advanced Dentistry provides second opinions for a variety of dental situations and conditions.
THE PROCESS
Your second opinion visit will consist of a thorough evaluation of your past medical and dental conditions followed by an in-depth dental examination and evaluation of a 2-D panoramic x-ray scan.
This will aid our team in determining your diagnosis and recommended treatment options. There is no charge for the preliminary second opinion consultation. All of this information will be provided to you in writing for your further consideration on how to treat your dental condition. However, there are more complex dental conditions that may require more in-depth dental evaluation. This may require taking advantage of more in-depth dental technology, complex examinations, biopsies, lab tests, or 3-D CBCT scanning. These procedures are optional and are available at traditional dental fees. Insurance coverage will be evaluated on an individual case basis.
WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE US FOR YOUR SECOND OPINION
Our three dentists have many years of experience in their respective areas of dental expertise
These areas include cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, periodontal gum treatment, prosthodontics, adult tooth movement, and oral pathology. Each doctor is a former Dental School Professor and researcher representing Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, Harvard University Dental School and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. They have taught thousands of dental students, published numerous articles on dentistry and lectured extensively on various dental subjects. They have numerous five-star reviews on Google and have been recognized by their peers in Bergen County as Top Dentists.
TECHNOLOGY
Our Second Opinion Dental Team uses the latest technology to assist in both the diagnosis and treatment recommendations of various dental conditions. In addition to using traditional dental x-rays, our team also uses the latest 3-D CBCT scan technology to diagnose and visualize dental conditions that often cannot be seen on traditional dental x-rays.
